Held in members room in Tizard Hall and opened by the
chairman at 1.30p.m. There were four members of the
committee present, the first quorate meeting for some
time. The President expressed concern at the levels
of interest shown by R. Graham . Brown, the secretary
who was again absent from the meeting. There
followed a statement of the finances of the society
by the president (for the treasurer) giving
details of the loss incurred by the sherry party on
the 9th. It was thought that this loss would be
covered by the profit obtained from the sale of
books. The supply of posters for advertising had
almost run out but the treasurer doubted if
the society could afford to buy replacements at
£2 for 500 through the S.C.C, even though
this offer seemed very fair. There then followed
a short discussion on the problem of the secretary
who failed to do his job properly. It was decided
to give him the opportunity to resign and to transfer
his duties to the vice-chairman. Also to co-opt
another member onto the committee to take the
responsibility for advertising. The meeting closed
at 2.20p.m.
